No one likes solo people. No one would say they prefer a lone ranger to a team player. That's just human nature. Humans like others to depend on them. It sort of gives them a sense of power/dominance. Such as you asking them for help during some tasks, sure they will nag and whine but in the end when they go and help you, it kind of gives them this belief that others need them around. And this feeling makes them feel good.
Well... he is too self centered. True he is like me, a bit ji xing and always wants to get things done. But the problem is not everyone is like that, and the worse thing is majority of the people tends to be a bit more relaxed. He finishes his tasks promptly and accurately, but when it comes to EQ, there is a problem there. His eagerness to impress eventually gets the better of him, and it is irritating. Eager to please and eager to impress is different. The former contains more humility whereas the latter embodies a little of arrogance.
No one likes arrogant people. Sure you are good, but people don't like to constantly hear how good you are. And if you don't reveal your weaknesses, in a way you are showing you don't need any help, and as written above, no one exactly wants to care about people who they can't help. He has a bike like me too. But he cycles off before everyone else leaves. Even when he doesn't cycle, he "disappears" way before everyone else. His reason: He simply doesn't like to wait.
Take for example that evening. It was 515 and everyone was going to book out soon. There was a call and there was some work needed to be done and manpower was needed. So we all left our stuff in the office and went straight to help. After 30 mins when the task was done, we were walking back to the office when we found that he wasn't around anymore. Then M said he already informed him to say that he's going back straight to bunk to change. Well, true he didn't leave anything in the office for him to go back and take, but... it's all about walking back together, sitting JC's van back to bunk together and booking out together. I guess you got the drift.
At BSS, it is a very cohesive place. When there are problems, we try to help one another out. When the "botak" is out to get us, we all stand on the same side. It isn't a place just for working efficiently and getting things done. It is a place where we help cover each others' asses as well as show what brothers are for. True there are ugly moments too, like KW's "legendary" kick on Anthony's head, and my argument with Albs, but those were in the past.
That time i was invited by WK to his birthday dinner at Geylang. Everyone turned up. I was surprised and i thought would i do it if it was my dinner. Am i that close to them all? Now i understand... when you spend every weekday with this bunch of people, you are bound to be close. A few of them are even going to KL tmr.
When people are all selfless and very giving, it creates an aura of trust and communication among them. But he is too high up for others... haiz... too bad then...
