Some happenings, angsty and probably funny stuff too that happened over the past few days.

I used the government's tax rebate 100 bucks to go join a poker tournament on fri! Haha ... it's not that but i like to make it sound that way. It was really interesting, with a good mixture of crowd. 2 tables, 15 players in total, with 1500 chips each. Ken and i were probably awed by all that but it was really cool. At least i am convinced we should play with people who has the same concept of "money" as us, ie. student populations. I won the first hand, really reluctantly, since we agreed to play really tight. But can't blame me with the ace and 8 hitting 2 pairs. But yeah they said it's bad luck winning the first hand.

We were exposed to the concept of really loose all-ins. But then it worked for them against people like us. Robin Leong was there too with 2 other caucasians who were really friendly. The flush draws i needed didn't come and so i had to bow out midway through, especially when the blinds were burning us real bad. 2 times the blind each 20 mins! Zzz ...

Ken made it to the top 5 before he agreed with the other guy to split the 4th prize. One really funny sight was when the security guard came to chase us out of the function room and that was like the 3rd time already. So the remaining 3 players had to stuff all their stacks of chips into every pockets they could find, before unloading them bit by bit upstairs in the host's house.

And no. I am not addicted to gambling.

Vday yesterday was funny in the sense that we met so many people i know when we went for dinner at wasabi tei. First person i saw was Ken Chan and cos i had to do my phone, i asked him to help me queue up since he was last in the queue. Then when i went up to check on the queue, Aaron and Edna popped up behind me in the queue. Then after that Linda appeared with her bf. So we made up about half of the customers in the shop at anytime. Watched Bride Wars and it was pretty nice looking at the wedding concept through a female's perspective, at least of the 2 female protagonists. But i was really surprised how Emma's relationship could get so strained nearing the wedding, and then before deciding not to married on that day itself, and then marrying Liv's brother one year later.

Oh and angsty drivers. I was one of them yesterday because so many people were cutting lanes ABRUPTLY without signalling! And there was one who couldn't make up his mind to turn or not and came to a stop on the road itself, with me right behind! I think it was due everyone wanting to have the perfect Vday that somehow they didn't anticipate all the traffic and delays, so everyone was angsty. Somemore today on the way home, this Honda Civic cut into a Hyundai's lane on the right most lane, and immediately, the Hyundai signalled left, cut 2 lanes, zoomed ahead, signalled right and cut back in front of the Civic. I was just behind the Civic when all that happened. I literally CLAPPED.
