Dear Blog,

Today marks the last day of my CESC. Moving to Seletar Camp tmr for my bridging course. Surprised i didn't make much friends at SOCE. Probably because i was hanging out with Chris they all everytime. Anyway had a great time there. It is the best place i have ever been to. Good instructors and sirs. Except for today's warrant toh who is somewhat an extra. More on that later.

Had Lantern Festival celebration on fri night. Our 2IC, Warrant OW, the guy that i mentioned sometime back about wearing a leather jacket and riding a bike. Yeah... he just played the drums like a pro that night. Definitely a punk in his younger days. But that just make us respect us more. Plus he is a ranger. And definitely one of the few warrant officers that can think straight.

Stayed in that night with 24 others cos need to go SP for soil course the next day. Went to one of the labs and sort of experienced the way how things are taught in poly. Didn't see any girls around so that was a pity. =p Went to the foodcourt there for lunch and saw xihao and alvin. Signals people. They having a 2 weeks course there and their lessons are like only half a day, so the other half they can play soccer. How good can it get manz...

Livefiring today. As i said, Warrant Toh was conducting. A problem with regulars is that they don't usually care what time NSFs book out because regulars got to book in everyday for quite sometime. So he kind of dragged everything. Anyway, livefiring was great. Fired the instantaneous fuse first and it bounced a bit with a crack. Then next was the primer which is a detonator. That created a sound slightly softer than a hand grenade. And that thing looks like an orange wax candle. So we were thinking that next time war don't need bring grenades... just bring some of those primers to throw.(Those stuff explodes upon impact too.) Was scared that someone might drop that thing and kill us all but luckily nothing happens. Then after that selected people get to fire the block 3. That was like 100 times more powerful than a primer. Shiok manz.

Haha and got a shock when i went to ken's site. That guy is back manz~!!! Thought i lost him... haha... machiam awol or something... oei kenneth... no time for an old friend ar???

Been reading Sidney Sheldon(those that i missed out) and rereading a few sometime back. His stuff kind of all the same. A female protagonist. Poor during childhood. Became rich and powerful. He uses female's desire and the need for a prince charming to show the weaker side of the character. Sex scenes a bit here and there to spice up stuff a little, but practically do nothing to the plot. Perhaps also to twist the outcome of the stories a little. Male characters are enhancers. That's about it. But well... isn't for all the books, but in general la.

Yours,
Lah

Dear Blog,

Looking at the passing trees while on the bus, brings back the feeling of how fast time has past. Was telling yf that day we knew each other since 13. We will be 20 next year. Like what the hell manz. Where did time go?

Lost many many friends. Haiz. Can't help feeling sian about it. When we don't keep contact, bound to end up totally not even saying a word to each other. Everyone is too busy now. Meeting new people is like having new entertainers and audience in your life.

Kan zhe tian shan wu yun man man pai shan dao hai... i like this song... haha...

Got to go off soon for a dinner i won't like to miss. Can't miss it too else i won't be off for one of the weekends. =p

Yours,
Lah

Dear Blog,

Apparently there is someone who was from the last batch in Cadet Training Wing that looks a lot like me, or rather i look a lot like him. Sgt Wencong that day said he finally realised who i look like... then few days back the 2nd lieu who was teaching us night vision equipment asked whether i have an elder brother.

Took cab home with ashwin. 1st 3 months classmate. Then he migrated to Australia to study. But got to come back for NS.

Finished Da Vinci Code. Great book... for free thinkers. Not advisable for Christians or Catholics. It just inspired me to go take a look at the paintings of Leonardo Da Vinci.

Lah

Dear Blog,

Stay out. Almost like what i told ZH when we booked in on mon. But a bit wrong cos the weekend's plans are pushed forward. I was predicting we will book out on thurs night after course dinner, then book in on fri, then book out on fri cos its lantern festival celebration, then book in on sat for soil course, then book out cos soil course is half day, then book in on sun for live firing, then book out cos its half day. Hahaha basically book in and out la...

But... everything pushed forward la... so only can stay out tonight and tmr night... then sat and sun need to stay in... but think might get nights out.

No more ippt, no more soc~~ haha yay... at least for half a year...

So fast end of CESC... all the friends made... leaving for different vocations... nvm... at bridging will see many familiar faces also... zh, terry, chris, ouyang, chonghao, derrick, qijian... gonna be xiong there... heard its very regimental... so be it then... at least when i graduate, i've gone through smth that not many people want to go through.

That's about it. A few more days to slack and enjoy the good food at nee soon camp before the real thing starts.

Yours,
Lah

Dear Blog,

The Da Vinci Code is really baffling me. Everything is... too coincidental. It's almost like a plot that's too perfect. Either Dan Brown is damn good, or he spent an awfully long time on that book.

Yesterday went to play condition zero. It's okie la. Still somewhat the same. Just that i think the shield thing is useless. Went NYDC. Met up with Eunice and her bf. Went Hendrix after that. Met up with Ariel, Sean and Samuel. Freeflow ain't good for the mind. It hits you too fast.

Topic of cheating was brought up during dinner last night. Can it be pardoned? Is it excusable? On one hand, everyone longs for companionship. Some people can't take it when they are all alone. Furthermore, a lonely heart makes a person depressed. Is it wrong for the person to look for a companion when the person who ought to be there can't be there?

It is only human nature...

What if... considering all this has happened... and now the situation is that the person knows he/she is wrong. Will you truly understand how he/she feels?

Lah

Dear Blog,

Sometimes i hate my guts. I have changed too much... too bold. Worrying.

The ability to do things alone, so as to fully accomplish what i strive for will result in self-centeredness. Too daring to jump across the line and to test the normalities. I don't want to look into your eyes and tell you i don't need you as a friend because you are getting into my way, for that will hurt me more than anything.

Anyway, that was an awful paragraph. Got posted into bridging. Guess where the camp is?? Haha... can cycle there lo~!! Bad thing is not going to crescendo with the field, armour and survey people. Oh and i got my ippt gold today. Ran my life out. Seriously. Shaun said everytime i run 2.4, i am like playing with my own life. Quite true. Determined mah. But if they screw up my time again............. anyway, now for the marksmanship badge.

Nights out on thursday was great. Actually thurs should let us book out cos we did nothing today. But because of the ippt la. Booking in on mon day =p cos next weekend got training. Soil course at SP. Sun live firing. Don't know firing what. ADM? PLC? Thurs got course dinner at marina bay. Think it will be chaotic. 125 people at marina bay eating steamboat.

That's about it. Gonna enjoy this weekend.

Lah

Dear Blog,

I don't know why i changed my template. Think is my sis. She says i should change it and she helped me get it done. Anne was laughing at it... yes you... what is so funny about it??!?!?!?! hahaha...

Yesterday and today i good boy. I stayed at home. Surprisingly i went for lunch and dinner with mum and sis and i purposely make the effort to take the bus with them to wherever they wanted. Feeling a bit stoned now cos slept a bit just now. Feeling happy also cos don't need to book in tonight... so the week feels naturally shorter...

Had minefield test last week. The PLC is one fascinating plus heavy thing. Firstly it stands for projected line charge... used to clear a path in the minefield... it has 2 parts... the launcher and the container... both weighs 20kg... by the time we run to the minefield, with bullets zooming around us, guess me and my pioneer won't have enough blood left to set the thing off. And the ADM, area defence munition i think... uncle of claymore... i would love to see the effect of that thing... its 20kg too...

Parents' visiting was duh for me. I brought my storybook along with the rest whose nobody is coming to the mess and stayed there until the time to go back to change. But it's good to see the camp with civilians around la.

"...i believe that fate brings people together. If 2 persons are fated to be together, they will end up together no matter what. If they aren't meant to be, then eventually in the end, they won't be together. So my point is that... if you have been with that person, then cherish the memories because fate brings both of you together, but too bad fate didn't say that both of you are meant to be together..."

Dear Blog,

Things that sergeants and sirs constantly say will stay with us for a long time... especially funny stuff.

When you are going to stay at some place for a long time, you use the word "squat". So i get posted to bridging, means that i got to squat at seletar camp because the course and the unit after the course will both be there.

When too many people get together and it gets kind of messy and chaotic, you can use the word "orgyness" to describe the situation.

These 2 words will be very funny when they came out from the mouth of a man who is 40 smth and who looks like some punk when he was younger. Anyway, now he still wears a leather jacket with RED tee shirt inside and he rides a bike. He's my 2IC. Which Warrant Officer actually rides a bike? He's chinese and he has the look of a grandfather. So it was quite shocking seeing him wearing like an old-time punk.

Master Boris(who has a name like that manz...), he's the guy that screwed up my first 2.4 run... well... when he teaches us... he will say until a point, then he will say "wrong..." So it will be like... so the back blast of the claymore mine is 20m... WRONG... 16m... can't imagine that if everyone uses that in normal conversations... it will be hilarious...

IPPT test... i proudly declare that i am the best............. silver medallist in the course........ haiz..... disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed disappointed ... 2nd run missed by a bit... really a bit...

Lao bu never ever taught me to compare with the lousy ones... want to compare also compare with the best... think there's a retest next week... but each time, the 9.4smth is a torture... guess i will get used to it soon...

Survey for future vocation by next week... can't come to a conclusion with the rest except chris... most probably VLB then plant, then bridging... zihao wants to go armour... think field's out of consideration now... cos only got jurong camp and another one at changi... then armour's at lim chu kang...

Will think about it... that's all... been listening to shu shu shu by ocean a lot lately, it has been a normal song at first but liking it more and more...

Have fun... oh long weekend~!! monday then book in... =)))

Lah

Dear Blog,

Zihao was saying that day that it feels as if we've already learnt a lot, but it only has been 5 months. Going through a whole new different thing now as compared to 2 months ago. Going to go through another new phase in 3 weeks time... before going on to another in 3 months time...

The continuous cycle of going through different stages in life... experiencing things that make you different, and going through things that you have gone through. Learning through mistakes and having more confidence in the things you do. Knowing your fears and overcoming them.

My mama never told me i will become like that. Neither did my papa teach me about growing up. Next year my age will no longer start with the digit 1. I had always wondered how it will be like to be 18. Then when my cousins were 23 or 24, i wondered how it is to be like studying in university. Before i know it, i am into a new phase of my life. However, i hope this stays with me forever...

Sometimes i wish my parents will ask me about things. Because i can imagine if they ask, then i will happily share with them them. Realised most of the time i am just telling them because i want to share with them, but some of the things require a bit of pushing. Well... if they don't ask, i guess they will just know less about me.

There's SSM's parade tomorrow. Then IPPT test on tues. Will be a shorter week cos there's parents' visiting on fri, though my parents aren't coming. Oh well... have already started looking forward to next weekend... =p

Have fun...

Yours,
Lah

Dear Blog,

Feeling a bit tired now, but i will finish this up before i go and sleep. The guys just went back home awhile ago. Had a great crazy ps session. Need to rest to prepare myself for the ippt test.

Learnt booby-trapping. Totally awesome. Mine "exploded" successfully during the practical lesson. Course getting kind of slack. Maybe after going through BSLC, nothing isn't very tough now. Lots of lectures.

Got my specs done, less reliance on contacts. Going to watch Bourne Supremacy one of these days. Erm... actually decided to choose field engineer, but after going for AOH, everyone kind of unsure now. Plus the fact that we can put other vocations down first and only if there are too many people for it, then we will go through by voting. And if that is the case, we can just pull out of it and choose field engineering if plant engineering got overwhelming response.

Think that's about it. Tataz...

Yours,
Lah
